The Governing Body of Dartford Grammar School comprises 15 trustees who recognise that high quality governance is crucial to children’s education and life chances, and to holding school leadership to account. As an Academy, we also have additional responsibilities as both admissions authority and employer of staff.
The role of governors complements that of the Headmaster who is responsible for the day-to-day management of the school.
The governors of Dartford Grammar School have a range of skills to ensure key strategic decision making, and the time to be a visible presence in the school. They use data to provide both support and challenge to school leaders and ensure effective financial management of the school’s resources.
The full governing body meets three times a year and additionally conducts its business in termly meetings of the 2 committees – The Resources Team and Curriculum Team. We meet with students, parents and the local community at events throughout the year.
The governors of DGS share the high expectations and aspirations set by the Headmaster and senior leadership team and are proud to be associated with this outstanding school.
