2022 IB Diploma Results - best average ever!
The IB Diploma results for the Dartford Grammar School 327-strong cohort of year 13 students would be outstanding in a normal year, with the average 2022 point score nudging to an all-time high of 37.7, and a third of our students gaining over 40 points. For our students to have achieved this in the face of the challenges of the covid years, with remote learning and no public exams hitherto, is all the more remarkable, and these youngsters deserve special acknowledgement for their tenacity and focus.
Six students, Ayman Ahmad, Kelechi Ambros, Lota Emeka-Onah, Skanda Murali, Moyin Sina-Atanda and Jude Swaby achieved the maximum 45 points. A further ten achieved 44 points and a staggering 108 scored 40 points or more, which is exactly one-third of our candidates. For context, 173,000 students globally participated in the IB Diploma, which continues to be a popular choice for aspirational young people who are offered through the programme a broad curriculum allowing them to study English, Maths, a Science, a Foreign Language and an Humanity in the sixth form. We strongly believe that this course of study fosters resilient, ambitious students who are prepared for a wide range of opportunities in the future and prepares them well for the outside world.
Ayman Ahmad has a place at Oxford to read Medicine, Kelechi Ambros and Moyin Sina-Atanda also go on to study Medicine at Nottingham and Imperial respectively. Lota Emeka-Onah has chosen to read Architecture at Cambridge, and Skanda Murali will also go on to Cambridge to read Geography. Jude Swaby will read Mathematics at Imperial. That is a very impressive list but clearly does not exhaust the exciting destinations and intentions of others in Year 13 and we congratulate all of them, alongside the '45ers', and wish then well in the paths they now chose to follow.
