DGS celebrates 25 years as an International Baccalaureate World School
Dartford Grammar School is celebrating its 25th anniversary as an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. This is a milestone for us as we join a legacy of schools around the world to reach this landmark.
Both the IB Middle Years and Diploma programmes are studied by our students as they progress through the school and both have been created through IB’s rigorous authorization and evaluation process.
The Middle Years Programme (MYP) is for students aged 11 to 16 and is a challenging framework that encourages students to make practical connections between their studies and the real world. The Diploma Programme (DP) is for students aged 16 to 19 and is comprised of six subjects, including three core subjects, that give a broader and continued education throughout.
Since the school first became an IB World School in 1995, it has been supported by the IB organization to implement the programme offered to students. Over 3500 students have graduated from the school having completed the IB Diploma programme since it was first introduced. The Middle Years programme has scaffolded the curriculum in the lower years of the school since 2007.
