DGS named the Sunday Times Southeast School of the Year 2025

Dartford Grammar School has been named as the Sunday Times Southeast School of the Year 2025 in their latest Parent Power study.
Ranked 21st nationally and 4th in the southeast among State secondary schools, the award comes on the consideration of 'holistic excellence', reflecting not only the 2024 GCSE and IB results, but also the 'rich and varied; co-curricular programme and its focus on developing students as 'balanced global citizens'. The guide emphasised that pupils feel safe and happy, with leadership focussed on the principle that happy students are successful students. 
Head, Julian Metcalf, remarked in his report to parents that among this co-curricular offering, the picture at the end of 2025 was a good example -  students heading off on a wide range of trips and activities, national champions in athletics, impressive participation in sport, music, drama, art and countless other activities and clubs, and individual student successes and achievements too numerous to mention. 'And, above all, we have students who are enjoying their learning, and the opportunity the school presents to get involved and give so many things a go. Such breadth is the richness of life.'
