DGS ranked as one of the happiest schools in England and Wales
Dartford Grammar School is delighted to find that the school is ranked by the Sunday Times, after extensive research, as one of the 14 happiest schools in England and Wales!
The Sunday Times has analysed five years of Parent View data on Ofsted's website to create this list: some 500,000 parents complete a detailed survey each year for Ofsted that include a range of questions, and the responses in a carefully chosen set of these completed surveys were used to compile a list of the 14 happiest schools. The methodology was to include schools with at least 500 places where at least 100 parents had completed the survey - some 1,934 state secondary schools thereby qualified for inclusion.
It is gratifying to know that the students at DGS are happy during their time here as our cohorts are busy with a plethora of co-curricular offerings that make time management crucial. The school captain says: 'there is a positive atmosphere in everything we do here and a sense of optimism that buoys us all. There is so much on offer that it is easy to find something you enjoy and are good at, which improves your self-esteem, and the staff and fellow students all have a strong sense of how important well-being is.'
The 14 schools in the top sector of this survey all scored 99%.
