Dartford Grammar School students celebrate success in challenging times: GCSE results 2021
We are delighted that our students have achieved an outstanding, richly deserved set of GCSE results. These are the product of their hard work over the last two years, as well as the considerable support of their subject teachers. Between them, Year 11 have achieved an Attainment 8 total of 80.2, with 85.7% of all grades being awarded at 9-7 in our academically rigorous curriculum.
GCSE grades were this year awarded through a process of Centre Assessed Grades, set against a national standard and approved and awarded by the exam boards. Particularly impressive were the nine students (Ethan Dias Alberto, Robert Radovics, Kartik Rawlani, Mattias Kalesinskas, Abhay Pherali, Harry Clisby, Fadi Khaled Baiza, Samuel Chapman, and Aidan Modica) who achieved the top grade (9) in eleven subjects. Additionally, Joel Atta, Xerxes Perry, Ashraf Punekar, Alex Levin, Emmanuel Ogunsakin, Naim Ghantous and Jasper Tsang gained ten top grade 9 results.
Incoming Headmaster, Julian Metcalf, commented, ‘All students should be very proud of their achievements: I would like to congratulate both students and their teachers on the hard work and commitment that has so clearly gone in to these results. But equally important is the resilience and motivation they have demonstrated in a notably challenging year. I don’t doubt these students will now go on to excel in the sixth form. They fully deserve their success.”
