Founders' Day 2025

Friday 28th March saw the school come together to mark the 449th anniversary of the founding of the school. As is customary, Years 7 and 12 attended a service in Holy Trinity School in Dartford, whilst the rest of the students had that service replicated in a special assembly at school. In the evening, the Founders' Day concert celebrated the occasion in the presence of special guests and parents.

We are grateful to the Reverend Charlie Lloyd-Evans who delivered the address at Holy Trinity, and to Mr Barry Stephenson who returned to the school to voice the Bidding. In both the church and school services there were similar threads of thought - how history shapes us. 

The evening concert saw a record number of students on stage entertaining the audience with voice and instrument. The Senior choir has some 85 members this year, their voices coming together to send tingles down our spines; the windband's John Williams medley had us tapping our feet, and the final piece saw the orchestra playing an arrangement of Metallica's Orion done by a year 13 student Max Dhingra. But it is wrong to single out any one act - the school is privileged to have so many talented musicians, and as the Head Julian Metcalf said in his closing words, not only talented but genuinely enjoying their performances!
