Japanese students visit Oxford University

On Thursday 11th May, ten JEP students and the Yr12 IB Japanese cohort joined the trip to Oxford University Japanese Department for an exciting day of activity and immersion into university life.

They participated in language workshops and toured the city, including the stunning Bodleian Library and Radcliffe Camera. They ate in the Oxford Dining Hall, and had a soft drinks networking session with current undergraduate students so that DGS pupils could gain some knowledge about university life.

Students impressively translated, and added to Japanese poems in the afternoon, and then performed their work in a ‘Reader’s Theatre’ [ondokukai] style in front of the group. It was a hugely successful day again!
