Three golds at the School Games!
Over the last weekend of the summer holidays, three of Dartford Grammar School's athletes returned from the National Finals of the 2021 School Games with gold medals.
Daniel Goriola, Timi Babatunde and Kai Barham all won the Schools Games finals in their respective events. Daniel won the 100m hurdles in 13.05s, Timi won the discus with 51.54m and Kai won the hammer with 59m.
The School Games is supported by National Lottery funding from Sport England and delivered by the Youth Sport Trust. It is a major multi-sport event for talented young athletes across the UK. Between Thursday 2nd and Sunday 5th September, more than 1,300 young athletes competed across ten sports, including disability disciplines, at venues across Loughborough University Campus. The event was the first multi-sport event for young athletes following the lifting of lockdown restrictions.
Congratulations to Daniel, Timi and Kai, not only for the fantastic outcomes and the gold medals, but for the dedication we all know went into training throughout a challenging 18 months.
