U15 Rugby team reaches the Final of the NatWest Vase

The U15 rugby team went to Allianz Park on Sunday 10th March to play a historic match in the semi-final of the NatWest Vase competition. The match was against Cardinal Newman School, Hove, who had reached the semis by beating Penryn College 14-10: Dartford Grammar School reached the semis by winning their match against Forest School 19-14.

DGS boys were 26-7 up at half time in the semi final match after three early tries, and the final score was 38-14 to Dartford Grammar School. This takes them through to the final at Twickenham against Samuel Whitbread Academy on Thursday 21st March.

Fifteen Rugby's Match report call the performance of the DGS team 'stunning ... full of pace and power'. The match report can be read here: http://www.fifteenrugby.com/u15-vase-dartford-grammar-storm-to-twickenham-final/.

Man of the match was Daniel Pedro.

The match was streamed live on youtube which meant that those supporters who could not make it to the ground were glued to phones and smart televisions - it all felt very real!

In particular, the Year 7 rugby players, who were themselves on rugby tour this weekend, were keeping up to date with the older boys' performance as they travelled back on the bus.

We could not be more proud of the Year 10 boys who consistently prove themselves to be exceptional sportsmen in every discipline. We wish them the very best of luck in the final at Twickenham on 21st!
