Vaughan triumph at inter-house swimming gala

Well done to all the swimmers who on Wednesday represented their Houses at Fairfield Pool for the school's annual swimming gala.

It was a really competitive gala! There were some excellent swims in the year 7 competition from Josh Daley (Vaughan), winning the 50m breaststroke and Leon Viehoff Tod (Vaughan) winning the 100m individual medley. Despite Vaughan's efforts though, Havelock won the year 7 event with strong contributions from Samie Kebede (50m free) and Matteo Cinesi (25m fly) as well as the freestyle relay team.

In the year 8 competition it was a win for Vaughan house. Iskandar won the 50m breaststroke and there were also victories from both relay teams. Tobi Omatayo (Wilson) and Conrad Carroll (Daeth) both swam well in challenging Vaughan.

The year 9 event was again won by Vaughan as Andrew Boboye (backstroke) and Andrei Dragulin (individual medley) both won their events and contributed to the medley relay victory. Dinura (Daeth) put up some strong challenges to Vaughan as he won both the 50m breaststroke and the 50m freestyle.

The year 10 event saw a win from Wilson despite a really strong challenge from Alex Kapatos (Gwyn) who was dominant in all of his swims.

The Hesketh Shield is presented to the overall winners of the gala and this year it was presented to Vaughan House!
